Yuzuru, born the middle son of three brothers, was seen by his mother Yuka as an easy child to raise. One spring, the eldest brother found work and moved out to live alone, the younger brother enrolled in a boarding school, and the father was transferred for work — life changed suddenly and Yuzuru and Yuka began living alone together. The once lively house fell quiet and Yuka felt a sense of loss.
