About this work

This project pretends to be the gimmick from a certain show — approaching women who missed the last train with “I’ll pay your taxi, can I go to your home?” — and then taking them home and going all the way. An untidy, lived-in home reveals that person's human drama. ■ Report ① This time we’re in the young people’s district “渋谷”!! Even though the last train has long gone, the area is crowded with many people (mainly drunk). About an hour after starting the shoot, we approached a woman with “Can I go to your home?” Her name is ナナミさん, 30 years old♪ She works as a nursery teacher by day and at a cabaret club by night — a hard worker. “I know that show♪ You’ll pay my taxi? Then it’s fine♪” she agreed casually, and we took a taxi from 渋谷 to her home in 足立区. ② Her room is girly with lots of pink furniture and accessories; many of her clothes are pink and girly. Despite that girly image, the fridge looks like an old man’s — she drinks canned chuhai every day. Her snack is simple: cucumber. She apparently drinks alone, quietly biting on cucumber. ③ Looking at her bookshelf, there’s a book titled “Treatment for Sex Addiction”… A few years ago she was filling loneliness by sleeping with two to three men a day. Before she noticed, her number of partners exceeded 1,000! She became unable to stop unless she was having sex, and when she sought medical help she was diagnosed with “sex addiction.” ④ Even if it was only physical relationships, it felt good that men needed her. She came to seek being treasured by men to an extreme. The trigger was her parents’ divorce when she was in elementary school. She was a daddy’s girl and, shaken by the sudden divorce, started seeking her father’s affection from others, she said tearfully. After receiving counseling, her symptoms eased, and the woman who once had sex with anyone now only had sex with someone important to her. She even has a boyfriend she’s thinking about marrying. ⑤ We couldn’t force a woman battling sex addiction into sex.
