The consumption tax is going up, but salaries aren’t. It’s awful. So that means the amount of money I can spend will go down by whatever it rises, right? Ugh, what a problem. Even a difference of just a few percent adds up — every little bit counts. I totally forgot what the new rate will be though. Some friends are saying "buy big-ticket items now!" and are buying all sorts of things. A few even bought pretty nice cameras or guitars. The things I want aren’t that expensive — clothes, bags, accessories. At most a few tens of thousands of yen per item? I usually buy things on sale anyway. I thought it wasn’t something I needed to rush because of the tax increase... but a friend who’s good at shopping seriously told me, “For items that don’t change with the season, you should buy them all at once while you can.” Since she said it, I figured I should listen, so I started planning a bulk buy around last month. But then I realized you need money to do a bulk buy, right?? I’m really surprised at how easily people splurge on expensive stuff. Thinking my current salary wouldn’t be enough to secure the funds I needed, I got a risky part-time job offer at the right time. I never thought I’d be filmed for an AV.
