Why are there so many men who just don’t get it? It’s not like I expect a romantic turn straight out of a drama or shojo manga, but there’s a minimum sense of atmosphere, right? The worst experience so far was when I went out for drinks one-on-one with a guy I’d met at a group date. He was totally different from how he’d been at the group event—absolutely not fun, no sign of trying to liven things up, and he only talked about his own hobbies. Then he got drunk on his own, and I ended up having to support him to the station, even lending him my shoulder to drag him along! I was already thinking “no way” at that point, and when we got to the station he started clinging to me, whining “You can’t just go home now—let’s go to a hotel~~” as if. Does he really think a woman will go to a hotel because he says that? Is he just saying it, hoping it’ll work out? My precious free time was being stolen by this guy and my anger grew, so I pulled away telling him “If you don’t stop I’ll take you to the police,” and got away (lol). If during the drinking he had entertained me a bit more, if we’d gotten nicely drunk together and he’d made me feel like I wanted to keep seeing him, when he invited me I might have thought “meh, why not” and gone to a hotel—he could’ve left that kind of impression. In that respect, professionals are different. A pro noticed right away that I was at a loss for something to do, and managed to get me into a hotel without making me feel uncomfortable or anxious. Steering a light mood into sex is unfair. Once you’ve let your guard down, you can’t suddenly say “I don’t want this.” It felt like they made it so I wouldn’t even think of saying no.
