Ordinary... nothing particularly distinctive. People generally dislike that. If you're ordinary, nobody will notice you. Although it varies by person, there is at least somewhere in most people's hearts a desire to stand out, to be exceptional in something compared to others. But if that desire goes too far, you can end up losing yourself. The woman who appears from here tells that story. Her name is Kaori, also known as "Ordinary Kaori." She, too, was troubled by her own ordinariness. Around the first year of junior high—i.e., when she hit puberty—that feeling became especially pronounced, and she desperately tried to change her ordinary self.
