Risa is a student attending a vocational nursing school. Until she graduated high school she had been a quiet, serious girl raised in the countryside, so she never had anyone she could call a boyfriend and had shown little interest in sexual matters. She entered a nursing vocational school in Tokyo and began living alone. Becoming a nurse had been her dream since childhood. Back home there weren't many amusements, so she studied hard, but Tokyo has many places to go and the last trains run late, so she had far more fun than when she had a 6 p.m. curfew in high school. A few months after entering the vocational school, she was invited by a friend to a certain university's cultural festival. There she was picked up by a man who appeared to be a university student. It was the first time she'd been hit on, and she got carried away. Before long Risa and the university student began dating. He was her first boyfriend, but after about three months they gradually stopped keeping in touch and naturally drifted apart. After that Risa wanted a friends-with-benefits relationship rather than a boyfriend. If she was picked up she'd usually go along and soon enter a physical relationship. Her school was busy and she couldn't work much, so a casual FWB she could see whenever she wanted was better than a boyfriend. In her third year, with practicums making her even busier, she quit the part-time job she'd been doing and stopped contacting her FWBs much. She wanted to blow off stress by going out, but her school friends were busy and she didn't have extra money, so she wandered the city alone. Rather than thinking what to do, she was basically waiting to be picked up. She accepted the invitation of a man who hit on her, and that leads to the present.
