About this work

Rieko, a mother working part-time at a convenience store, has her daughter Miwa brought in one day by the store manager after he caught a shoplifter. In the back room, the manager lets the theft go because the suspect is the daughter of a part-timer, while Rieko repeatedly bows her head in apology. Rieko presses her daughter for answers but Miwa says nothing… A few days later the manager reports that Miwa shoplifted again. As Rieko pleads once more, the manager says there is a price to pay to cover up the theft and forces Rieko into a bitter choice...
