Six months ago Risa (里紗) broke up with her boyfriend, and now she has a physical relationship with one man. They call it being "sex friends," but he is considerably older. They met in high school. He was the biology teacher. Risa wasn’t particularly eccentric—just a normal girl who liked chatting with other girls. When she was a first-year high school student, she suddenly fell in love with that biology teacher. He wasn’t handsome, but he looked younger than his mid-40s and gave off a slightly odd, eccentric vibe. He always taught as if he had no energy, avoided eye contact with students, and seemed uninterested in conversation, mumbling his way through class. At first Risa only saw him as a dull old teacher. Then, the man who usually mumbled suddenly began talking about SF in class. He told a strange story—if cloned humans were created and he kept them as his spares, what if one day those clones rebelled...—but as he spoke his eyes sparkled and shone with passion. The club was unpopular: it had a few members, but they were all nominal members, and the biology teacher was left alone in the clubroom. There was nearly a twenty-year age gap, and above all he was a teacher and she was a student, so there was no way she could confess; they both kept their distance and never touched each other even when they were alone in the clubroom. Afterwards Risa went on to higher education and got a boyfriend closer to her age. She kept feeling unsettled, wondering why she hadn’t confessed at graduation. After breaking up with the boyfriend she’d been with for almost three years, she suddenly decided to visit her old high school. It wasn’t that she had no ulterior motives—she wondered if that biology teacher was still in the science clubroom. As it turned out, he was still there, alone, grading quizzes. Risa couldn’t help herself and threw her arms around him. She didn’t care if the test papers he was grading scattered onto the floor.
