Yuka was bored. After graduating from high school she got a job in the apparel industry and was living by doing her best in her own way. She worked hard to increase sales and to improve herself. She believed she had managed to save a reasonable amount. At work her reputation among colleagues was good — her crisp, straightforward personality made her seem mature for her age and helped her earn trust. However lately she had grown tired of the unchanging repetition of the same things every day. Yuka herself had no particular goals at her current workplace, nor did she consider this job temporary while pursuing some dream for the future — she had no such dream. Even though she appeared dependable, she was still a 20-year-old girl. She still lacked experience both in study and in play. The moment she felt constrained by her current situation she found she couldn’t do anything. She wanted change but couldn’t make it happen. She didn’t know what to do. Yet she was extremely bored, and that stress just kept growing. One day a junior coworker invited her out for dinner. It was already close to 11 p.m.; Yuka would have preferred not to eat at that hour, but she couldn’t refuse and went into a nearby café. There her junior confessed, “I actually appeared in an AV.” “The pay was surprisingly good, and you looked kind of down, Yuka, so I thought it might be a good diversion.” Yuka thought, This is it! In any case, it would be a good chance to break this boredom.
