Reiko sank into solitary grief after losing her husband Jirō (ring name: 力正次郎), who had been called the father of Japanese professional wrestling, to illness. A few days later the story begins when Jirō’s disciples gather at Reiko’s home to offer incense. Rather than merely expressing gratitude to Jirō, they go so far as to sneer at the now-deceased Jirō as “old-fashioned.” Reiko is pained by the disciples’ behavior. Among them, only one disciple named Reiji offers Reiko comforting words, but…
