During a one-on-one meeting between the staff and Ran, after receiving an explanation about sperm donation and expressing a desire to try the timing method, the staff asks why her husband is absent today. She replies, "My husband is opposed to the timing method, so I didn't bring him to today's meeting," and the staff are taken aback by her seeming willingness to pursue the timing method while ignoring her husband's wishes. Without obtaining the husband's consent, the day of the sperm donation arrives. A donor appears before the confused husband and Ran, and amid an awkward atmosphere the donation procedure begins.
